How would dogs wear trousers? Daft question goes viral after dividing the internet

Have you ever wondered how a dog would wear trousers – if they were to don clothing?

It isn’t as strange a question as you might think, and in fact has been gripping the internet with its hidden complexities ion a way we haven’t seen since THAT white and gold dress .

The reason why there is any debate is that a dog has four legs, meaning that somepeople believe dog trousers would be made to encompass all of them, as human trews do.

But others feel that the waist is the marker for a trouser – and on a dog, that’s halfway up the body, leaving trousers to cover the back two legs.

Maxim magazine’s deputy editor Jared Keller asked his 24,800 followers what they felt on Monday with a tweet which has so far gained more than 31,000 retweets and 35,000 likes on Twitter .

A scarcely scientific poll Keller subsequently ran shows that more than 80% of respondents believe that pups deserve the two-leg method.

Althoughy Keller didn’t create the image, he spoke to a Facebook page moderator from Utopian Raspberry – Modern Oasis Machine (or UR-MOM) where he got it, Norbert, who said he created it.

“I saw some dogs wearing pants, and I thought about how they don’t really have arms so their pants should technically go on every leg. I just tried both versions,”Maxim reports .

The conundrum has appeared before online, but no one has answered the question definitively.

So while you make up your mind, here are some great dogs wearing pants, many from Instagram’s popular #dogswearingpants hashtag.
